This privacy policy explains how Pure Intentions Dating ("we", "our", or "the app") collects, uses, and protects your personal information. By using the app, you agree to the practices described below.
2. Information We Collect
To provide our dating service, we collect the following information:
- Account information: name, email address, and (optionally) phone number when you register.
- Profile information: display name, bio, birthdate, gender, city, state, ZIP code, faith tradition, denomination, practice level, and church/community affiliation.
- Photos: images you upload to your profile. Uploaded photos are reviewed by our moderation team before appearing to other users.
- Interactions: winks, connection requests, and messages between you and other users.
- Reports and blocks: when you block or report another user, we record that action for safety enforcement.
- Usage data: login timestamps and basic activity logging for security purposes.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the service: your profile, photos, and location are displayed to other users for matchmaking purposes. Your ZIP code is never shown to other users.
- To keep the community safe: reports, blocks, and activity logs help us enforce our policies and remove bad actors.
- To communicate with you: we use your email for account verification, password resets, and important service announcements.
4. Who Can See Your Information
- Other users: your display name, age, bio, photos, city/state, and faith details are visible to other users in browse and profile views. Your email address, phone number, ZIP code, and birthdate are never shown to other users.
- Messages: your messages are visible only to you, the recipient, and (for safety review) our moderation team.
- Our moderation team: administrators can view profiles, photos, reports, and messages for moderation and safety purposes. Admin access is logged.
5. Photo Moderation
All uploaded photos are reviewed by our moderation team before appearing on your profile. This helps ensure a safe and appropriate environment. Rejected photos are not shown to other users, and you are notified with a reason for the rejection.
6. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure servers with industry-standard protections. We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data transmission. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.
7. Data Retention & Deletion
When you delete your account, we remove your profile from the service and delete or anonymize personal data that is no longer needed. We may retain limited records where necessary for safety, security, fraud prevention, payment/accounting, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or to enforce our terms. Records retained for these purposes are access-controlled and kept only for defined retention periods unless a legal hold requires longer retention.
What is deleted immediately
- Your display name, bio, birthdate, gender, location, faith details, and all other profile fields
- All profile photos and uploaded media (removed from servers and database)
- All messages you have sent
- All winks, connection requests, and interaction history
- Your email address, phone number, and name are removed from your account record
- Session tokens, push notification tokens, and authentication credentials are revoked
- Your email is removed from security/activity logs associated with your account
What may be retained and for how long
- Deletion audit record — 3 years. A record that the deletion occurred, including a one-way hash of your original email for cross-reference if you contact us about the deletion later. Contains no readable personal data.
- Financial records (subscriptions, transactions) — 7 years. Required for tax, accounting, and chargeback compliance.
- Safety records (reports, blocks) — retained while relevant for community safety. If you filed reports or were reported, those records are retained for abuse prevention and may be needed for law enforcement or legal proceedings.
- Security logs — 1 year. Activity logs with your email removed at deletion time, retained for security and abuse prevention.
- Ban/suppression records — indefinite. If your account was banned, your email address is retained on a suppression list to prevent re-registration.
- Anonymized account shell — 30 days. A minimal record linking your former account ID to retained financial and safety records, then permanently purged.
Backups
Production backups are retained for up to 35 days. Deleted data may remain in encrypted backups until those backups expire and rotate out. Backups are not individually edited per deletion request. If a backup is restored, deletion records are replayed to ensure deleted accounts are not resurrected.
Deletion requests are processed automatically and deterministically. A deletion audit record is created documenting what was deleted, what was retained, and why. These retention periods are enforced automatically — expired records are purged on a daily schedule.
8. No Sale of Data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing or any other purpose.
9. No Third-Party Tracking
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking services in our app.
10. Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time from the Settings screen in the app or website. Account deletion removes your profile, photos, messages, and personal information from the service.
11. Children's Privacy
This app is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a user is under 18, their account will be terminated and their data removed.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
